Teen snowboarder Choi Gaon has secured her second consecutive World Cup title in the women's halfpipe at the International Ski Federation Snowboard World Cup held in Copper Mountain, Colorado, on December 19.
Choi achieved a score of 94.50 points, finishing ahead of Japan's Sena Tomita, who placed second with 88.75 points, and the United States' Bea Kim, who came in third with 75.25 points.
Notably, two-time Olympic gold medalist Chloe Kim did not compete in the finals due to an undisclosed injury. Both Choi and Kim had topped the qualification scores in their respective groups earlier in the week.
This victory marks Choi's third career World Cup title and enhances her prospects of medaling at the upcoming Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics.
The next event in the halfpipe World Cup series is scheduled for January in Calgary, Canada.
