BTS member Suga is garnering attention in South Korea following reports that his mother owns a newly constructed property in the affluent Hannam neighborhood, where several other BTS members also reside.
According to a media report on December 4, Suga’s mother holds ownership of land and a building in Hannam-dong, Yongsan District, with the property valued at approximately 17.3 billion won ($12.9 million).
The property underwent significant renovations after a change in ownership in December 2022. Suga’s mother, through a corporation she leads, reportedly acquired the land and an existing structure for around 10.8 billion won, demolished it, and completed reconstruction over a two-year period.
The newly finished building, completed this year, consists of eight stories, which include two basement levels and six aboveground floors, along with an additional rooftop structure.
The first floor is now occupied by a restaurant launched by Suga’s older brother, which opened last month. Another restaurant is situated in the basement, while a hair salon operates on the third floor. The fourth and fifth floors appear to be mostly filled, indicating minimal vacancy.
Recently, Suga was reported to have visited the building to address noise concerns related to the construction work.
Hannam-dong is home to multiple BTS members, including Jin, RM, and Jimin, which may have influenced the family’s decision to purchase in the area. The group members are noted for their extensive real estate investments.
For example, Jin purchased a 243-square-meter unit at Hannam The Hill for 17.5 billion won in June. He had previously acquired a 233-square-meter apartment for 4.49 billion won in July 2019, and another 206-square-meter property for 4.27 billion won later that same year.
J-hope is also reported to possess several properties, including a penthouse in Seobinggo-dong, Yongsan District, bought for 12 billion won, along with another unit directly below it, as well as two luxury apartments in the Seongsu area of eastern Seoul.

12월 4일자 보도에 따르면 슈가의 어머니는 용산구 한남동에 있는 토지와 건물을 소유하고 있으며, 이 부동산의 가치는 약 173억 원(약 1,290만 달러)으로 추정된다.
이 부동산은 2022년 12월 소유권 변경 이후 대규모 변화를 겪었다. 슈가의 어머니가 이끄는 법인을 통해 약 108억 원에 토지와 기존 건물을 구매한 뒤, 이를 철거하고 2년에 걸쳐 새로 건축했다고 전해진다.
올해 완공된 새로운 건물은 지하 2층과 지상 6층으로 구성된 8층 규모이며, 추가로 옥상 구조물이 있다.
1층은 슈가의 형이 운영하는 식당이 자리 잡고 있으며, 이는 지난달 개업했다. 지하에는 또 다른 식당이 위치하고 있으며, 3층에는 미용실이 운영되고 있다. 4층과 5층은 불이 밝혀져 있으며 거의 대부분 채워져 있는 모습으로, 공실이 최소화된 것으로 보인다.
보도에 따르면 슈가는 건설과 관련된 소음 문제를 점검하기 위해 최근 이 건물을 방문한 것으로 알려졌다.
한남동은 진, RM, 지민 등 여러 BTS 멤버들이 거주하는 곳으로, 이는 가족의 구매에 영향을 미쳤을 수 있다. 이 그룹 멤버들은 탄탄한 부동산 포트폴리오로 널리 알려져 있다.
예를 들어, 진은 6월에 한남 더 힐의 243제곱미터 유닛을 175억 원에 구매했으며, 2019년 7월에 4억4900만 원에 233제곱미터 아파트를, 같은 해에 4억2700만 원에 206제곱미터의 또 다른 부동산을 구매한 바 있다.
제이홉은 서빙고동에 있는 펜트하우스를 포함하여 여러 부동산을 소유하고 있으며, 이 펜트하우스는 120억 원에 구매되었고, 그 바로 아래층의 유닛과 서울 동부 성수 지역에 있는 두 개의 고급 아파트도 포함되어 있다.
