Both starting pitchers, Cody Ponce for the Eagles and Gerson Garabito for the Lions, have shown strong performances against their opponents in previous meetings. Ponce achieved six shutout innings in a regular-season game against the Lions, while Garabito delivered two scoreless outings against the Eagles.
Ponce has had a particularly successful record in day games, boasting a 6-0 record and a 0.59 ERA in his seven starts, whereas Garabito's only afternoon start resulted in one run allowed over three innings.
Kim emphasized the importance of scoring first in the game, stating that taking advantage of opportunities is crucial.
