Representatives from Genesis BBQ, Highland Foods Group, the Animal and Plant Quarantine Agency (APQA), and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety gathered in front of a freight truck carrying meal kits made with Korean-grown chicken at Highland's manufacturing and logistics center in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province, on Tuesday.
The meal kits, produced through a collaboration between Genesis BBQ and Highland Foods Group, are set for distribution to retail outlets across Europe.
This initiative follows an agreement made last year between the APQA, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, and the European Union to jointly conduct quarantine and quality control measures for Korean chicken meal kits intended for the European market.
In light of this agreement, Genesis BBQ has begun monitoring local markets in Europe and has initiated partnership discussions with Highland Foods Group.

APQA와 식품의약품안전처는 지난해 유럽연합(EU)과 협의하여 유럽으로 발송될 한국산 닭고기 밀키트에 대한 공동 검역 및 품질 관리 조치를 실시하기로 합의했다. 이에 따라 제너시스 BBQ는 현지 시장 모니터링을 시작하고 하이랜드 푸드 그룹과 파트너십 체결 논의에 들어갔다.
