K-pop boy group 1Verse officially debuted with its first single album, "The 1st Verse," and a press showcase last week. One of the five members, Seok, a North Korean defector, expressed his disbelief at becoming an idol during an interview at his agency's studio in Seoul. He noted the increase in activity following their debut, stating, "It feels like things have gotten a lot busier since then, with many interviews being scheduled. From now on, I want to try to live and work harder with just one word in mind — beginner's mindset."
The group has garnered significant media attention prior to its debut due to the unique backgrounds of its members. Seok and Hyuk, both North Korean defectors, are part of a diverse lineup that includes Nathan, an American with Lao and Thai heritage, Aito from Japan, and Kenny, a Chinese American raised in Los Angeles. Seok and Hyuk were both born in 2000.

이 그룹은 데뷔 전부터 멤버들의 주목할 만한 배경 덕분에 많은 언론의 관심을 끌었다. 두 명의 멤버, 석과 혁은 북한 탈북자이지만 K-pop 그룹에서 첫 번째로 데뷔한 것은 아니다. 독립 레이블인 Singing Beetle에 의해 결성된 1Verse의 라인업은 멤버들의 이야기만큼이나 다양하다. 북한 출신의 혁과 석 외에도, 라오스와 태국계의 미국인 네이선, 일본 출신 아이토, 로스앤젤레스에서 자란 중국계 미국인 케니가 포함되어 있다. 석과 혁 모두 2000년에 한국에서 태어났다.
