The Marine Corps announced on Monday that it conducted regular amphibious landing drills in a southeastern coastal city to enhance combat readiness.
The exercises were held in Pohang, located approximately 270 kilometers southeast of Seoul, involving around 3,200 troops, KF-16 fighter jets, and various Navy vessels, including the ROKS Marado amphibious assault ship.
During the drills, troops utilized reconnaissance drones to scout the area before landing on the coast with amphibious assault vehicles, simulating responses to threats from enemy drones.
The training also emphasized obstacle removal and securing pathways in the coastal region, employing combat engineers along with armored bulldozers and mine-clearing equipment.
해병대는 월요일, 전투 준비 태세 유지를 위한 일환으로 동남부 해안 도시에서 정기적인 수륙 양용 상륙 훈련을 실시했다고 발표했다.
이번 훈련은 서울에서 남동쪽으로 약 270킬로미터 떨어진 포항 해안 지역에서 진행되었으며, 약 3,200명의 군인과 KF-16 전투기, ROKS 마라도 수륙 양용 공격함을 포함한 다양한 해군 선박이 동원됐다.
군은 먼저 정찰 드론을 이용해 해당 지역을 정찰한 후, 수륙 양용 공격차량에 탑승하여 해안에 상륙했으며, 적 드론의 폭발 위협을 모의 훈련으로 저지했다.
이번 훈련은 또한 전투 공병을 배치하고 장갑식 불도저 및 지뢰 제거 장비를 동원하여 해안 지역에서 장애물을 제거하고 통로를 확보하는 데 중점을 두었다.
