<p class="editor-p">Science Minister Bae Kyung-hoon held a productive meeting with Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang in Seoul to discuss collaboration across several areas, including developing Korea’s physical artificial intelligence ecosystem, according to the science ministry.</p>
<p class="editor-p">The discussions occurred during Huang’s four-day visit to Seoul, which began on Friday and included meetings with leaders from major local AI supply-chain companies, researchers, and startup representatives.</p>
<p class="editor-p">The minister and Huang emphasized delivering tangible outcomes from the Korea-Nvidia partnership established last year during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, and reaffirmed its importance.</p>
<p class="editor-p">Bae requested assurances on the smooth supply of about 260,000 Nvidia chips agreed upon at the APEC gathering and sought Nvidia’s support for Korea’s plan to develop an AI factory based on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform.</p>
<p class="editor-p">The two also discussed advancing partnerships in the physical AI sector, with Bae expressing hope that Nvidia’s forthcoming AI R&D center in Seoul could serve as a hub for Korea’s collaboration with the U.S. chipmaker.</p>

회의는 황 CEO의 서울 방문 4일째에 진행되었으며, 그는 AI 공급망의 주요 대기업 경영진은 물론 연구자들과 스타트업 대표들과도 만났다.
과학부는 지난 해 APEC 행사 계기에 한국과 엔비디아의 파트너십이 합의된 이후 실질적 성과를 창출하는 것이 중요하다고 재확인했다고 밝혔다.
또한 과학부는 APEC 행사에서 합의된 약 26만 개의 엔비디아 고급 칩의 원활한 공급과 엔비디아의 베라 루빈 플랫폼을 기반으로 한 한국의 AI 공장 구축 노력을 지원해 달라고 황 CEO에게 요청했다.
양측은 물리 AI 분야의 파트너십을 논의하는 한편, 서울에 마련될 엔비디아의 AI 연구개발(R&D) 센터가 한국과 미국 반도체 업체 간의 협력의 기반으로 성장하기를 바란다고 밝혔다.
