<p>The Doosan Bears have moved into contention for the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) postseason by winning five straight series, as they aim to return to the playoffs this year after missing in 2025.</p>
<p>Entering Tuesday, the Bears hold the best record in June with an 8-3-1 mark and sit at 33-31-2 for the season, occupying the fifth and final playoff position.</p>
<p>Bears manager Kim Won-hyong emphasized maintaining balance and warned that the season is not near its midpoint, despite recent improved performance.</p>
<p>Following a series against the KT Wiz, the Bears are scheduled to face first-place LG Twins over the weekend at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul.</p>
<p>Kim noted that the team is firing on all cylinders in both pitching and hitting and expects this level to continue against strong opponents.</p>
<p>In June, the Bears have the league’s best starting pitching ERA (2.91) and bullpen ERA (2.30), contributing to their improved results.</p>
<p>The bullpen has been bolstered by the return of closer Kim Taek-yeon from a shoulder injury, who has pitched two scoreless innings in two appearances since his return, while veteran reliever Lee Young-ha has stepped up with nine saves and a 2.63 ERA in Kim’s absence, prompting the manager to keep Lee as closer for now.</p>
<p>Kim indicated that Taek-yeon may reclaim the closer role in the future, but the team will prioritize overall performance and bullpen depth in the meantime.</p>

서울 잠실구장에서 2위 Wiz를 맞아 경기를 치르기 전에 베어스의 김원형 감독은 차분한 자세를 유지하려 했다.
"전반기에 비해 더 나아진 것은 분명하다"고 그는 말했다. "다만 중요한 것은 아직 시즌의 절반도 채 안 됐다는 점이다."
Wiz를 상대한 뒤 베어스는 주말에 1위를 달리는 LG Twins와 대결할 예정이다.
"이번 주가 우리에겐 어려운 시험이 될 것이라고들 한다"며 김 감독은 "앞으로 매주가 어려울 것"이라고 밝혔다. "투타가 함께 가동되고 있다고 생각한다. 정말 좋은 팀들과의 대결에서도 이 흐름이 계속되길 바란다"라고 말했다.
이번 달 KBO에서 베어스는 최다 승률은 물론 선발진 평균자책점 2.91, 불펜 평균자책점 2.30으로 6월에 최고 기록을 세우고 있다.
지난주 어깨 부상에서 복귀한 이달 Taek-yeon 김은 두 달 간의 휴식 후 두 차례 실전에서 무실점을 기록했다.
그의 공백 기간 동안 베어스의 베테랑 계투 이영하가 9개의 세이브를 기록했고 2.63의 ERA를 냈다. 이 수치로 김 감독은 현재로서는 이영하를 9회 말 마무리로 유지하기로 결정했다.
"영하가 매우 잘 던지고 있다. Taek-yeon이 결국엔 마무리로 돌아올 수 있지만 지금은 그렇지 않다"라며 김 감독은 말했다. "그는 이를 이해할 것이다. 상관은 있지만 팀이 우선이다."
김 Taek-yeon의 late-inning 고강도 상황에서의 활용 가능성과 이영하의 세이브 역할은 베어스에 안정된 불펜 깊이를 제공한다.
"불펜이 막판 이닝에 훌륭한 활약을 보여주고 있다. 초반에 리드를 잡아 유지하는 것도 언제나 좋다"며 김 감독은 말했다. "최근에는 리드가 많이 바뀌는 상황 속에서 강력한 불펜의 중요성을 다시 한 번 팀들이 인식하고 있는 것 같다."
