Yonhap</p></div></div><p class="editor-p">Director Yeon Sang-ho's zombie thriller "Colony" has topped box-office charts in several Asian markets, becoming one of the most-watched Korean films in some countries, according to the distributor.</p><p class="editor-p">In Malaysia, the film had 1,511,802 admissions as of Sunday, the highest for a Korean film at the local box office to date, per the distributor.</p><p class="editor-p">In Indonesia, the film accumulated 1,062,394 admissions, ranking as the second most-watched Korean film there, while in the Philippines it drew 347,438 admissions, also making it the second-most watched Korean film in that market.</p><p class="editor-p">The movie ranked among the top five most-watched Korean films in Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.</p><p class="editor-p">Colony follows biotechnology professor Se-jeong and a group of survivors as they attempt to escape a building locked down by a virus outbreak, with a cast that includes Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Ji Chang-wook and Kim Shin-rok.</p><p class="editor-p">Domestically, Colony has surpassed 5 million admissions, marking the second film released this year to reach that milestone after The King's Warden.</p>

말레이시아에서 이 영화는 일요일 기준 누적 관객 수 1,511,802명을 기록하며 현지 박스오피스에서 지금까지 가장 많이 본 한국 영화가 되었다고 쇼박스가 덧붙였다.
연 감독의 이전 좀비 스릴러들인 "부산행"은 2016년에 2위를 차지했고, 2020년작 "반도"가 3위에 올랐다.
인도네시아에서는 누적 관객 수가 1,062,394명에 이르렀고 현지에서 두 번째로 많이 본 한국 영화가 되었으며, 필리핀에서도 34만7,438명의 관객을 모아 현지에서 두 번째로 많이 본 한국 영화가 되었다.
싱가포르, 대만, 태국에서도 한국 영화 중 다섯 손가락 안에 들 정도로 상위 다섯 자리에 올랐다.
"콜로니"는 연상호 감독의 최신 좀비 스릴러로, 바이러스 발발로 봉쇄된 건물에서 탈출을 돕는 생존자들의 이야기를 다룬다. 이 영화에는 전용 연구원 이필(전지현)과 함께 좀비를 제어하는 외로운 늑대 연구자 구교환, 생존자로 분한 지창욱과 김신록이 함께 출연한다.
한국에서의 흥행은 더욱 두드러져 500만 명이 넘는 관객을 기록했으며, 올해 개봉한 한국 역사 드라마 " King's Warden"에 이은 두 번째로 이 같은 성과를 달성했다.
