<p class="editor-p">Two of Korean baseball's top teams are set to clash in a pivotal three-game series, each aiming to sustain momentum or rebound from a recent dip in form.</p>
<p class="editor-p">The KT Wiz, holding the best Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) record at 25-16-1, will visit the third-place Samsung Lions (24-17-1) for the series beginning Tuesday. The games will be played in Pohang, the Lions’ alternate home city about 70 kilometers east of Daegu.</p>
<p class="editor-p">The Wiz lead the league by a half game over the LG Twins and one game over the Lions. They snapped a three-game skid on Sunday and have just three wins in their past 10 outings, while the Lions have seven wins in their last 10.</p>
<p class="editor-p">Since April 26, the Wiz have either led or co-led the standings on a daily basis.</p>
<p class="editor-p">In other KBO action this week, the sixth-place Hanwha Eagles (20-22) aim to return to a .500 winning percentage for the first time since April 11. The Eagles host a six-game homestand at Daejeon Hanwha Life Ballpark, despite owning the league’s worst home record at 6-14.</p>
<p class="editor-p">Hanwha will welcome the ninth-place Lotte Giants (16-24-1) from Tuesday to Thursday and then host the Doosan Bears (20-22-1), tied for sixth, from Friday to Sunday.</p>
<p class="editor-p">The Eagles have been productive offensively in May, leading the league with 120 runs and 29 home runs for the month—no other team has reached 100 runs or 20 homers.</p>
<p class="editor-p">The SSG Landers (22-19-1), two games behind the Lions for second, will spend the week on the road with three games against the last-place Kiwoom Heroes (16-26-1) followed by three against the Kia Tigers (21-21-1).</p>
