<br><hr><br><p>서울 강남구의 한 카페에서 조용한 월요일 아침, 세 남자는 자연스러운 태도를 연습한 듯 조심스러운 자세로 자리에 앉았다.</p>
<p>DRIPPIN의 보이 밴드 멤버인 차준호, 김동윤, 이협은 이번에 데뷔 유닛으로 이름을 ChaDongHyeop으로 정하고 다가오는 화요일 첫 싱글 앨범 "Doogeundae"를 발표할 예정이다. 이는 2020년 데뷔 이후 DRIPPIN의 역사상 처음하는 유닛 프로젝트로, 여섯 해의 시간을 걸친 이정표에 해당한다.</p>
<p>그들은 한국 Times와의 인터뷰에서 기다림이 보람 있었다고 말했다.</p>
<p>차는 “오랫동안 이 순간을 기대해 왔다. 팬들에게 이제야 무언가를 보여줄 수 있게 돼 정말 설렌다. 이는 우리에게 새로운 시작이며 팬들이 보지 못한 면을 보여주고 싶다”고 말했다.</p>

<p>지난 활동이 멈춘 지 약 2년여 동안 세 멤버는 바쁘게 움직였다. 김과 이협은 Mnet의 오디션 프로그램 “보이즈 II 플래닛”에 출연했고 차는 연기에 도전했다. 각각의 활동은 그들에게 변화를 가져다주었다.</p>
<p>김은 “다양한 재능을 가진 사람들 사이에 있다 보니 자만할 여유가 없다는 것을 깨달았다. 더 날카로운 집중력과 새로운 센스를 가지고 돌아왔다”고 돌아봤다.</p>
<p>이협은 연습과 도전의 시기를 배움의 시기로 표현했다.</p>
<p>“‘보이즈 II 플래닛’에 출연하는 것은 씁쓸한 순간도 있었지만, 우리를 알아가는 새로운 사람들에게 많은 기회를 줬다. 새 도약의 에너지가 됐고, 모든 것을 다급하게 생각하는 마음이 크게 강해졌다. ChaDongHyeop의 모든 활동에 연료가 됐다”고 말했다.</p>

<p>타이틀곡과 수록곡 “Spring Walk” 두 곡으로 구성된 이번 싱글 앨범 “Doogeundae”는 다가오는 봄·여름의 일상 속에 자연스럽게 녹아들도록 의도된 계절감 프로젝트다. 차는 “다양한 실험을 해왔지만 이번 앨범은 계절을 중심으로 구성된 것이 차별점”이라며 “이전엔 이벤트송, 팬 전용 곡이 많았지만 일상 생활에 자연스럽게 어울리는 곡 모음을 만드는 것이 새롭다”고 말했다.</p>
<p>리의 타이틀곡 콘셉트를 특정 감정 순간으로 설명했다. </p>
<p>“도파민의 시대에 살고 있다. 자신에게 작은 선물을 주고 스스로를 대하는 것이 중요하다. 그러기 직전에 느끼는 두근거림이 바로 ‘Doogeundae’의 분위기다. 일상 생활에 아주 잘 어울릴 것이라고 생각했다.”</p>

<p>ChaDongHyeop를 돋보이게 하는 요소 중 하나는 각 멤버가 서로 다른 매력을 지니고 있다는 점이다. </p>
<p>“준호는 소년적이고 지적인 매력이 있다. 동윤은 힙하고 멋지다. 저는 사랑스러운 쪽이다.”라고 이협이 웃으며 설명했다.</p>
<p>데뷔에 맞춰 설정된 시각적 선택은 각자의 정체성을 반영한다. 차는 안경과 홍조로 지적인 따뜻함을 강조했고, 김은 강렬한 이미지의 금속성 악세서리로 엣지를, 협은 봄 색상을 연상시키는 분홍색 스티커 포인트를 선택했다. 차는 자신이 할 시각적 연출에 크게 개의치 않았다.</p>
<p>“사람들이 안경 룩을 사랑하면 평생 계속해도 된다. 그게 내 자연스러운 분위기와도 멀지 않았다.”</p>

<p>멤버들은 ChaDongHyeop 유닛이 싱글 이후에도 계속 활동할지 여부에 대해 의도적으로 열린 입장을 유지했다. </p>
<p>“유닛으로 계속 앨범을 내야 한다는 확정된 계획은 없다”라고 차가 말했다. “다 함께 듣고 싶은 음악을 멋진 무대에서 연주하는 것을 진정으로 사랑하는 사람들이다. 팬들이 우리를 사랑해 준다면 가능성은 언제나 열려 있다.”</p>
<p>그는 이어 시사하는 듯한 발언을 덧붙였다. </p>
<p>“이번 앨범은 계절성 프로젝트다. 가을에 어울리는 곡, 겨울의 추위를 만날 때의 곡을 다시 하고 싶다. 우리의 음악을 계절에 맞춰 계속 선보이고 싶다.”</p>
<p>인터뷰 마지막에 멤버들은 그들을 기다려 온 팬들에게 다가가려 했다.</p>
<p>“사랑으로 사는 사람이 우리와 같이 많지 않다고 생각한다. 그 사랑을 당연하게 여기지 않았다. 많은 팬이 우리에게 에너지를 주고 미소를 짓게 해 준다고 말하는데, 여러분도 우리에게 같은 힘이 된다는 것을 알았으면 한다.”</p>
