Samil PwC, Korea’s largest accounting firm by revenue, plans to export its in-house artificial intelligence (AI) solution to an overseas PwC member firm, marking a first for the domestic accounting industry.
The platform, named Control Testing Automation, uses AI to assess the effectiveness of corporate internal controls. It automates repetitive testing tasks to reduce reliance on labor-intensive manual reviews, aiming to streamline the process and boost efficiency.
In Korea, the solution is already available under the name K-SOX AI.
Samil PwC said the platform has strong international potential because risk management and internal control standards operate as a common framework across industries and borders. The firm intends to offer it to overseas affiliates in a software-as-a-service format and use the rollout as a launchpad for wider global expansion.
“We have built a solution that combines deep internal control expertise with AI in a way that transcends national and language barriers,” said Hong Joon-ki, assurance leader at Samil PwC. “It signals a new business model for us, moving beyond traditional advisory services into the global commercialization of proprietary AI products. We intend to expand beyond PwC member firms and actively target overseas companies as well.”
한국의 최대 회계법인인 삼일 PwC가 자사 내부 인공지능(AI) 솔루션을 해외 PwC 회원사에 수출할 예정이라고 월요일 발표하며, 국내 회계 산업의 처음으로 해외 확장을 예고했다. 이 플랫폼은 제어 테스트 자동화(Control Testing Automation)로 불리며, AI를 활용해 기업 내부통제의 효과를 평가한다. 전통적으로 이러한 평가에는 노동집약적 수작업 리뷰가 필요했고 상당한 시간과 인력이 소요됐다. 반복적인 테스트 작업을 자동화함으로써 프로세스를 간소화하고 효율성을 향상시키는 것이 목표다. 한국에서는 이미 K-SOX AI라는 이름으로 기업들이 솔루션을 이용할 수 있다. 삼일 PwC는 이 플랫폼이 산업과 경계를 넘어 공통의 위험 관리 및 내부통제 기준이 작동하는 국제적 잠재력을 가지고 있다고 밝혔다. 이 회사는 해외 계열사에 소프트웨어-에-서비스(Software-as-a-Service) 형식으로 제공하고, 이번 롤아웃을 글로벌 확장의 시발점으로 삼아 더 넓은 글로벌 확장을 추진할 계획이다. “특히 의미 있는 점은 내부통제 전문성과 AI를 결합한 솔루션을 구축해 국경과 언어 장벽을 초월했다는 점이다,” 삼일 PwC의 어슈어런스 리더 홍준기가 말했다. “또한 이는 전통적인 자문 서비스에서 벗어나 독자적인 AI 제품의 글로벌 상용화를 향한 새로운 비즈니스 모델을 나타낸다. PwC 회원사를 넘어 해외 기업도 적극적으로 타깃으로 삼을 계획이다.”이라고 덧붙였다.
