A South Korean boy group's album achieved a historic milestone by securing a third consecutive week at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard 200, the main albums chart. The project marked the first time a K-pop group has spent three weeks atop the chart.
Billboard's chart preview indicates the album remained No. 1, ahead of Morgan Wallen's latest release and Ye's album. The feat underscores the genre's growing global reach.
The Billboard 200 measures weekly U.S. album performance through units that combine physical and digital sales, as well as streaming and track-equivalent units.
The album earned 124,000 equivalent units in the latest tracking week, with 71,000 from sales and the remainder from streaming and track equivalents.
This achievement makes the group the first to spend three weeks at No. 1 in 13 years. The last group to accomplish this was Mumford & Sons with a five-week run for "Babel" in 2012-2013.
The album previously debuted at No. 1, marking the group's seventh chart-topping release. Its lead single also opened at No. 1 on the Hot 100 before slipping to No. 2 in the same week.
Released on March 20, the 14-track album explores the group's identity and universal emotions experienced by its members since their debut in Korea, according to the agency.

ARIRANG는 지난달 1위로 데뷔했고, 빌보드 차트에서 BTS의 일곱 번째 1위 앨범에 올랐다. 리드 싱글 "Swim"도 같은 주에 빌보드 핫 100에서 1위를 시작했으나 이후 2위로 내려갔다. 3월 20일에 발매된 14곡 수록 앨범은 한국에서 시작된 그룹으로서의 아이덴티티와 멤버들이 살아오며 겪은 보편적 감정을 다루고 있다고 소속사는 밝혔다.
