The Export-Import Bank of Korea donated vehicles valued at 500 million won ($375,000) to 18 multicultural family support centers nationwide as part of its ongoing social contribution program, according to a Sunday release.
The 18 vehicles, comprising nine vans and nine compact cars, were delivered through the Community Chest of Korea to various centers across the country.
The handover ceremony occurred at the bank’s Seoul headquarters in Yeouido and was attended by the bank’s chairman and CEO, along with representatives from recipient centers in Jeonju and Daegu.
The vehicle donation program, a long-standing corporate social responsibility initiative, has provided a total of 156 vehicles worth 3.36 billion won to multicultural support institutions over 15 years, the bank noted.
Officials emphasized that the vehicles will improve access to services for marriage immigrants, children from multicultural backgrounds, and other residents who previously faced distance-related barriers to center visits. The bank stated that, in celebration of its 50th anniversary, annual donations have increased by 200 million won compared with the prior year, and a continued effort to bolster local welfare infrastructure and social responsibilities was pledged.

은행 측은 다문화가정과 사회의 새 구성원들의 안정적 정착을 지속적으로 지원해 왔다고 밝혔습니다.
회사는 “창립 50주년을 맞아 연간 기부 규모를 작년 대비 2억 원 확대했다. 앞으로도 지역 복지 인프라를 강화하고 사회적 책임을 다하겠다”고 덧붙였습니다.
