Cultural institutions around Gwanghwamun Square in central Seoul are preparing temporary closures and schedule changes as safety measures ahead of BTS' large-scale comeback concert on March 21.
The National Museum of Korean Contemporary History said it will remain closed on that day due to safety concerns tied to expected large crowds in the Gwanghwamun area.
Nearby, the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts is discussing possible cancellations of scheduled performances and exhibitions, with officials exploring options to open limited parts of the complex for fan use, including access to select spaces and amenities.
Several performances at the center on that day have already been canceled, including the musical "Anna Karenina" at the Grand Theater and the play "The Wasp" at the S Theater.

Decisions are still pending for the Seoul Metropolitan Ballet's "Bliss & Jakie" at the M Theater and the Sejong Museum of Art exhibition "The Fourth Wall." If additional cancellations are finalized, organizers of the BTS concert are expected to provide refunds for affected productions.
The BTS event, titled "BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE: ARIRANG," will take place at Gwanghwamun Square on March 21 to coincide with the release of their fifth full-length album, "ARIRANG," due March 20. The concert is forecast to last about an hour and will be streamed globally via Netflix.
Police estimate crowds could total about 230,000 at the main stage and Deoksu Palace, potentially reaching around 260,000 toward Sungnyemun Gate, with anticipated traffic restrictions around Gwanghwamun Gate and disruptions to nearby cultural venues.
