Britain's Matt Weston led the field with a track record of 1:52.09, posting 56.21 seconds in the first run and 55.88 seconds in the second.
Germany's Christopher Grotheer, the 2022 gold medalist, stood third at 1:52.55, while Axel Jungk, the 2022 silver medalist, was second with 1:52.39.
The last two runs are scheduled for Friday, and the combined times after the four runs will determine the final standings.
