Two three-time Olympians have been named co-flag bearers for Korea at the Milan-Cortina Winter Games opening ceremony on February 6.
Cha Jun-hwan, 24, will be competing in his third Winter Olympics. He finished 15th at the PyeongChang Games on home ice and placed fifth at the Beijing Games, the best result by a Korean male figure skater. He also finished second at his final Olympic tune-up, the Four Continents Championships, in Beijing on Sunday.
Park Ji-woo, 27, made her Olympic debut in 2018 and did not reach the final in the women’s mass start. At Beijing 2022 she reached the semifinals in the mass start and finished 30th in the 1,000 meters. This year she is scheduled to compete in the 1,500 meters and the mass start.
The national Olympic committee said Korea will send 71 athletes to Italy, six more than the 2022 delegation.
Snowboarding will have the largest representation with 11 athletes, followed by 10 athletes each in short-track speed skating and bobsleigh.

피겨 선수 차준환과 스피드 스케이터 박지우가 다가오는 이탈리아 겨울올림픽에서 한국의 공동 기수로 선정됐다.
한국 스포츠·올림픽 위원회는 두 선수가 2월 6일 밀라노-코르티나 올림픽 개막식에서 국기를 들고 입장할 것이라고 밝혔다.
차준환은 24세로 이번 겨울올림픽에 연속 세 번째로 출전한다. 2018년 평창 올림픽에서 홈 아이스 15위를 기록했고, 4년 뒤 베이징에서 5위를 차지해 한국 남자 피겨 선수의 역대 최고 성적을 냈다. 이번 대회 전 마지막 올림픽 예비 대회인 4대륙 피겨스케이팅 선수권 대회에서 은메달로 대회를 마쳤다.
박지우는 27세로 2018년 올림픽에 데뷔했고 여자 매스스타트 결승 진출에는 실패했다. 2022년 베이징 대회에서도 매스스타트 준결승에 진출했고 1,000m에서 30위를 차지했다. 올해는 1,500m와 매스스타트에 출전할 예정이다.
한국 스포츠·올림픽 위원회는 또한 이탈리아에 71명의 선수단을 파견한다고 밝혔다. 이는 2022년 대회 대비 6명 증가한 규모다.
종목별로 스노보드가 11명으로 가장 많고, 쇼트트랙과 봅슬레이가 각각 10명으로 그 뒤를 잇는다.
