G-Dragon, the leader of the K-pop group BIGBANG, emerged as the biggest winner at the 17th Melon Music Awards (MMA 2025) held on Saturday at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome. He swept seven awards with his third solo album “Übermensch.”
The ceremony, hosted by Kakao Entertainment’s music streaming platform Melon, celebrated the year’s top musical achievements based on streaming data and fan involvement.
The 37-year-old artist secured three of the evening's four grand prizes, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year for his track “Home Sweet Home.” In addition to these accolades, he received four other trophies: Top 10 Artist, Millions Top 10 Album, Best Solo, and Best Songwriter.
During his acceptance speech, G-Dragon expressed gratitude, stating, "Every year is special, but the year of 2025 will be remembered as a particularly meaningful year for me. The title 'Übermensch' was like a personal mantra for me while creating this album. I want to thank all my fans, VIP, who are my source of inspiration.”
The Record of the Year award was presented to Jennie of BLACKPINK for her first solo studio album “Ruby,” with her title track "like JENNIE" maintaining popularity on the Melon charts since its release in March.
The New Artist of the Year awards were shared by co-ed group AllDay Project and girl band Hearts2Hearts. AllDay Project gained attention prior to their debut with the song “Famous,” which reached the top of the Melon’s Top 100 chart within three days.
Rose of BLACKPINK was named Best Solo, while IVE and BOYNEXTDOOR received the Best Group awards in the female and male categories, respectively. The Best OST (Original Soundtrack) award went to Huntrix for “Golden,” a hit song from Netflix’s animated feature “KPop Demon Hunters,” and British artist Ed Sheeran was recognized as Best Pop Artist.
The Track Zero Choice award was given to indie artist Hanroro, who showcased significant talent with her third EP “Jamong Salgu Club” (Grapefruit Apricot Club).
The ceremony attracted around 18,000 spectators and reached a global audience through live streaming.

37세의 아티스트는 이 날 시상식에서 올해의 아티스트, 올해의 앨범, 올해의 노래 등 네 개의 대상을 포함하여 세 개의 상을 수상했습니다. “Home Sweet Home”이라는 곡으로 수상하였습니다.
대상 외에도 최고 10 아티스트, 밀리언스 톱 10 앨범, 최고 솔로 아티스트 및 최고 송라이터를 포함하여 네 개의 추가 트로피를 확보했습니다.
G-드래곤은 수상 소감에서 “매년 특별하지만, 2025년이 특히 의미 있는 해로 기억될 것”이라며, “'Übermensch'라는 제목은 이 앨범을 만드는 동안 저에게 개인적인 만트라와 같았다. 제 영감의 원천인 모든 팬 VIP들에게 감사드린다”고 전했습니다.
올해의 레코드 상은 BLACKPINK의 제니에게 수여되었으며, 그녀의 첫 솔로 앨범 “Ruby”의 타이틀 곡 "like JENNIE"는 3월 출시 이후 멜론 차트에서 꾸준한 인기를 끌며 Top 100 안에 머물렀습니다.
