Three Korean golfers are in contention for LPGA Tour cards for the 2026 season as the qualifying tournament continues at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Alabama, despite interruptions due to weather.
Lee Dong-eun, a prominent player on the Korea LPGA (KLPGA) Tour, currently holds the top position among Koreans, sitting in fourth place at nine-under par in the LPGA Q-Series. The final round was suspended due to darkness at 4:15 p.m. local time on Monday.
Lee was leading the tournament at the end of the third round with a score of 10-under 204 but fell back after recording two bogeys and a birdie in her first seven holes of the fourth round before play was halted.
The top 25 players and ties at the conclusion of the tournament will secure their LPGA cards for the 2026 season. Due to adverse weather conditions affecting the tournament's schedule, the LPGA has shortened the Q-Series from 90 holes to 72 holes.
Lee won her first KLPGA title at the Korea Women's Open Golf Championship in June and led the KLPGA Tour in driving distance, averaging 261.1 yards off the tee in 2025.
Juniper Jang and Joo Soo-bin are also in the mix, tied for eighth place at seven-under par. Jang, previously known by her Korean name Hyo-joon, was two-under through 10 holes in the fourth round, while Joo was one-under through seven holes before the suspension.
Both players participated in the LPGA Tour this year after joining the circuit in 2023. Jang, 22, missed nine cuts in 15 starts and did not achieve a top-10 finish, while 21-year-old Joo played in 20 tournaments, also missing nine cuts without a top-10 result.
No other Korean players were positioned within the top 25 at the time of the stoppage. The projected cutline was at four-under, with four players tied for 23rd, including Hinako Shibuno of Japan, the 2019 AIG Women's British Open champion.
Another major champion from 2019, Lee Jeong-eun, was tied for 39th at one-under par. She had been in a better position, tied for 19th after three rounds, but fell out of the top 25 after going three-over through 11 holes in the final round.
