Kim Hye-seong of the Los Angeles Dodgers made a significant impact in his Major League Baseball (MLB) postseason debut by scoring the series-clinching run as a pinch runner.
The Dodgers secured a 2-1 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in 11 innings during Game 4 of the National League Division Series (NLDS) at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. This win allowed the Dodgers to claim the best-of-five series 3-1, advancing them to the National League Championship Series and bringing them closer to a second consecutive World Series title.
Although Kim was included on the rosters for both the Wild Card Series and the NLDS, he had not participated in any postseason games until he replaced Tommy Edman as a pinch runner after Edman hit a single in the bottom of the 11th inning.
Kim advanced to third base on a single by Max Muncy, putting him just 90 feet away from scoring the winning run. Pitcher Orion Kerkering, who replaced Jesus Luzardo, walked Kike Hernandez, loading the bases for the Dodgers.
Andy Pages then hit a grounder back to Kerkering, who mishandled the ball. Despite having ample time to make the throw to first base for the final out, Kerkering made a wide throw to home plate, allowing Kim to score. Kim ensured he touched home plate correctly after initially missing it, securing the victory for the Dodgers.
In the upcoming NLCS, the Dodgers will face the winner of the other NLDS matchup between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Chicago Cubs. Kim is noted as the only Korean player participating in this year's MLB postseason.

김은 처음에는 홈을 놓친 것으로 보였으나 다시 돌아와 홈을 밟아 다저스의 승리를 확실히 했다.
NLCS에서 다저스는 밀워키 브루어스와 시카고 컵스간의 다른 NLDS 승자와 맞붙게 된다. 김은 올해 MLB 포스트시즌에서 유일한 한국 선수이다.
