Coached by Lee Chang-won, the young Taegeuk Warriors managed to secure only a late penalty in their 2-1 loss at Estadio El Teniente in Rancagua, Chile, on Thursday (local time).
This defeat marked Korea's fourth consecutive appearance in the knockout stage of the U-20 tournament.
Korea finished third in Group B with four points, achieving a win, a draw, and a loss, and qualified for the round of 16 as the third-best team among four No. 3 seeds.
In the match against Morocco, defender Shin Min-ha was charged with an own goal just eight minutes into the game, when Yassir Zabiri's bicycle kick deflected off his leg.
Zabiri then scored a goal of his own to double Morocco's lead in the 58th minute.
Korea's lone goal came from Kim Tae-won, who converted a penalty during second-half stoppage time.
Despite having 14 shot attempts compared to Morocco's eight, Korea only managed to put three shots on target, while Morocco had two shots on target.
