Actor Jung Sung-il, known for his role in Netflix’s hit series “The Glory,” has finalized his divorce after nine years of marriage.
According to his agency, the divorce was reached through mutual agreement. The agency stated, “After long and careful consideration, the couple decided to end their marriage amicably. It was not due to any particular fault.”
Jung married a woman identified only by her surname Ryu in 2016, and the couple has one son together.
In a 2023 appearance on tvN’s “You Quiz on the Block,” Jung shared details about their initial meeting, stating, “I met her through a friend in my early twenties after completing my military service. She majored in pipe organ and later studied in the U.S. We kept in touch for three years through emails and phone calls between Seoul and the U.S.”
He also recounted a special story of how his wife exchanged letters with his mother while living abroad and later assisted Jung in caring for his mother during an illness after her return.
Jung gained prominence for portraying Ha Do-young, the husband of Park Yeon-jin in “The Glory.” He has subsequently appeared in the Disney+ series “Trigger” and the film “Murderer Report,” and is set to return in Disney+’s upcoming series “Made in Korea.”
