On Friday, President Lee Jae-myung appointed Kim Yong-beom, a former vice finance minister, as his presidential chief of staff for policy, according to the presidential office. Kim has extensive experience at the finance ministry and the financial regulator, having entered public service in 1987.
Kang Hoon-sik, the president's chief of staff, stated that Kim has a "deep understanding of overall economic policy" and is viewed as the "right person" to help realize the president's commitments to enhance the livelihoods of citizens.
Additions to the presidential office include Ha Joon-kyung, an economics professor from Hanyang University, who was appointed as senior presidential secretary for economic growth. Additionally, Moon Jin-young, a social welfare professor from Sogang University, will serve as senior presidential secretary for social affairs.
The reshuffle aims to bolster the nation’s economic growth by creating new senior aide positions in fiscal planning and artificial intelligence, as noted by Kang.

대통령실의 조직 개편은 국가 경제 성장 엔진을 촉진하기 위해 이루어진 것으로, 재정 계획과 인공지능 분야에 새로운 수석 보좌관 직위가 신설되었다고 강 수석비서관이 밝혔다.
이 개편은 정부 정책의 전반적인 변화와 확대를 목표로 하고 있다.
