Comedian Lee Kyung-kyu has responded to media reports alleging he was caught driving under the influence of drugs, expressing his frustration over what he described as a misleading portrayal.
On Monday, it was reported that Seoul’s Gangnam Police Station is investigating Lee for violating traffic laws. The incident occurred when Lee mistakenly drove a vehicle belonging to someone else after visiting an indoor golf range in Gangnam. This confusion arose when a valet accidentally handed him the keys to a similar-looking car.
The actual owner of the vehicle, suspecting theft, contacted the police. Upon returning to the golf range, Lee underwent a breathalyzer test, which resulted in a negative reading for alcohol. However, a separate field drug test reportedly indicated a positive result.
In his defense, Lee stated to various media outlets, “I had taken medication for a cold and for panic disorder before driving. I explained this clearly to the police, and the matter was resolved. I had just come from the hospital. But because headlines said ‘drug use,’ it gave people the wrong impression.”

월요일, 방송사 MBN은 서울 강남경찰서가 이경규를 교통법규 위반 혐의로 수사하고 있다고 보도했다. 보도에 따르면, 이경규는 일요일 오후 강남의 실내 골프장을 방문한 후 실수로 다른 사람의 차를 운전하게 되었다. 이는 발렛이 비슷한 외관의 차량에 대한 키를 잘못 전달하면서 발생했다. 실제 차량 소유자는 도난을 의심하여 경찰에 연락했다.
골프장으로 돌아간 이경규는 음주 측정을 받았고, 음주는 음성으로 나타났다. 그러나 별도의 현장 약물 검사에서 양성 반응이 나왔다.
이에 이경규는 여러 언론매체에 “운전 전에 감기와 공황장애로 약을 복용했었다. 이를 경찰에 명확히 설명하였고, 사건은 해결되었다. 병원에서 막 나왔던 상황이었다. 하지만 ‘약물 사용’이라는 제목이 사람들에게 잘못된 인상을 주었다”고 말했다.
그는 또한 “일부 내용이 왜곡되어 전달되었다”고 덧붙였다.
