Participants included representatives from various organizations, such as the Korea Iron & Steel Association, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, SsangYong C&E, and the Korea Expressway Corporation Research Institute. The symposium emphasized the high quality of building materials derived from steel by-products and projected a growing demand for upcycled steel materials across multiple industries.
The event also covered relevant domestic regulations and showcased examples of existing technologies that utilize these by-products. Hyundai Steel specifically highlighted its efforts in upcycling steelmaking slags generated through its carbon reduction-focused manufacturing processes.
