Korean champions Ulsan HD FC commenced their FIFA Club World Cup campaign with a 1-0 defeat against Mamelodi Sundowns FC. This edition of the Club World Cup has been expanded to include 32 teams, divided into eight groups of four. The top two clubs from each group will progress to the knockout stage.
