Kim Nam-jung, previously the standing representative for inter-Korean talks, has been appointed as the vice minister of unification. Kim Min-jae, who served as an assistant vice minister at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, has been promoted to vice minister.
In the agricultural sector, Kang Hyung-seok, the director-general for agricultural innovation policy at the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, has been elevated to the vice ministerial position. Additionally, Kim Sung-bum, the director-general for maritime policy at the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, has also received a promotion to vice minister.
Furthermore, Kim Kwang-yong, the spokesperson for the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, has been appointed as the head of the ministry's Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters.
The recent vice ministerial appointments are intended to strike a balance between stability and change by placing experienced career officials in significant roles, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of each ministry.
