The sharp rise in tuition fees is contributing to the financial strain on parents, with some families now spending more on early childhood education than on university tuition. The survey, released on Tuesday, analyzed data from 999 English kindergartens that operate on at least a half-day basis in Seoul and five high-demand areas in Gyeonggi Province: Goyang, Anyang, Seongnam, Yongin, and Hwaseong.
This data was compiled from official academy registrations from the local education offices and public education portals, with the survey conducted between May 7 and May 30. The findings highlight a notable trend of rapidly increasing fees within the sector.
