Acting President Lee Ju-ho on Friday emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong readiness posture against potential provocations from North Korea. This statement came as he took on interim leadership following the resignations of the prime minister and finance minister.
During a National Security Council (NSC) meeting, Lee underscored the necessity of ensuring there is "no lapse" in key areas including diplomacy, security, defense, and the economy. He directed the NSC to uphold a "watertight readiness posture" to prevent North Korea from executing any forms of provocations.
Lee further stated, "It is time for the NSC to redouble its efforts to protect the nation and ensure the public feels not the slightest concern over national security," highlighting the urgency of the situation.

이주호는 전임 국무총리 한덕수와 전 재무장관 최상목이 사임한 다음 날, 국가안전보장회의(NSC) 회의를 주재하면서 이같이 말했다. 그는 외교, 안보, 국방, 경제 등 분야에서 "일체의 빈틈이 없어야 한다"고 강조하며 NSC에 "북한이 어떤 형태의 도발을 꾸미지 못하도록 철저한 대비 태세를 유지하라"고 지시했다.
이 회의에서 이주호는 "이제 NSC가 국가를 보호하고 국민이 국가 안보에 대해 조금의 걱정도 느끼지 않도록 노력해야 할 때"라고 밝혔다.
