In his congratulatory message, read by the deputy minister of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, Han stated, "We will work to realize a more mature democracy to faithfully transmit to our future generations the values of a liberal democracy, upheld by the April 19 civic revolt."
Han expressed his aspiration for South Korea to lead globally in various sectors, including politics, economy, and society, by fostering unity among its citizens.
This statement comes amid speculation regarding Han's potential candidacy in the upcoming presidential election, which is set for June following the ouster of former President Yoon Suk Yeol due to a failed martial law decree. Han has not publicly commented on his possible candidacy.
