<p>Historically, imports rose to over 86,000 tons in 2018 but declined to just over 50,000 tons in 2019 amid a nationwide boycott of Japanese products amid strained bilateral relations. They remained below 10,000 tons in 2020 and 2021 before rebounding in 2022, surpassing 70,000 tons in 2023 and 82,000 tons in 2024.</p>
<p>In 2025, Japanese beer became Korea's leading source of imported beer by region, surpassing imports from the European Union with a market share of 41.7 percent.</p>
<p>Beer imports from the EU have declined in recent years, dropping from nearly 200,000 tons in 2019 to 84,254 tons in 2024 and 63,161 tons in 2025.</p>

<p>대조적으로 2019년에는 20만t에 육박하던 EU로부터의 맥주 수입은 최근 몇 년간 지속적으로 감소해 2024년 8만4,254t, 2025년 6만3,161t으로 감소했다.</p>
