<p>BioTNS, a molecular diagnostics company, was selected to lead a 30 billion won ($19.53 million) government program to establish technical standards for ultra-precision digital Polymerase Chain Reaction (dPCR) diagnostics, according to the company.</p>
<p>The seven-year initiative, involving 15 institutions, aims to secure global leadership in next-generation molecular diagnostics by standardizing dPCR technology and building infrastructure for ultra-precision medicine using domestic technologies.</p>
<p>The consortium includes six companies, two state-backed research institutes and seven university hospitals. Participating firms include Gencurix, Hanil Scientific, JNP Medi and Omicsyn, with GC Labs supporting clinical validation and commercialization.</p>
<p>The program will receive technology support from the National NanoFab Center and the Korea Research Institute of Bioscience and Biotechnology, while seven hospitals, such as Catholic University Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital, Severance Hospital and Asan Medical Center, will conduct clinical trials and efficacy evaluations.</p>
<p>BioTNS plans to use the LQ Suite dPCR system to optimize and advance its all-in-one integrated dPCR platform, automating the entire diagnostic workflow from sample preparation to final results.</p>
<p>The company also intends to develop diagnostic and monitoring kits for minimal residual disease in hematologic malignancies and various cancers, including gastric, liver, colorectal and breast cancer, while expanding its pipeline to brain tumors, neurodegenerative diseases and cardiovascular conditions.</p>
<p>BioTNS Co-CEO Kim Bong-suk said securing the lead enterprise role in the project validates the company’s technological capabilities on a national level, and the firm is committed to delivering ultra-precise medical services in the era of precision medicine.</p>

BioTNS와 함께 컨소시엄에는 여섯 개의 기업, 두 개의 국책 연구소, 일곱 개의 대학병원이 포함된다. 참여 기업으로는 젠큐릭스, 한일 사이언티픽, JNP 메디, Omicsyn 등이 있으며, GC Labs는 임상 검증 및 상용화를 지원한다. 국책기관으로는 국립나노재료센터와 생명공학연구원이 기술 지원을 제공한다. 가톨릭대학교 서울 성모병원, 연세 세브란스병원, 아주대학교병원 등 일곱 곳의 병원이 임상시험 및 효능 평가를 수행한다.
BioTNS는 LQ Suite dPCR 시스템을 활용해 시료 전처리에서 최종 결과에 이르는 진단 워크플로를 전자동화하는 올인원 통합 dPCR 플랫폼을 최적화하고 고도화하려 한다.
또한 자사의 dPCR 플랫폼을 hematologic malignancies의 최소 잔류 질환(MRD) 진단 및 위암, 간암, 대장암, 유방암 등 암종의 모니터링 키트 개발에도 활용하고, 뇌종양, 신경퇴행성 질환 및 심혈관 질환 분야로 파이프라인을 확대하고 있다.
