<p>Korean high school pitching prospect Park Chan-min has signed with a Major League Baseball team, joining as a 17-year-old right-hander.</p>
<p>The signing was announced by the team, with MLB.com reporting a signing bonus of just over $1.2 million, the largest for any pitcher in the 2026 international signing class. The deal was facilitated after the team traded for $750,000 in international bonus pool money.</p>
<p>Park, listed at 191 centimeters and 94 kilograms, has a standout high school season, going 6-0 with a 1.37 ERA over 46 innings in 12 appearances for Gwangju Jeil High School in Gwangju. He has 65 strikeouts and only seven walks, and his school has produced four MLB players.</p>
<p>His pitching profile includes a fastball that has reached 151 kilometers per hour (around 94 mph), with typical velocity in the mid-140s, and a mix of secondary pitches including curveball, slider, changeup, and splitter.</p>
<p>The team has previously had two Korean players reach the majors, a pitcher in 2009 and an outfielder in 2017.</p>
