The government has approved the resumption of regular flights between Incheon and Jeju Island for the first time in a decade, aiming to improve access for foreign travelers to regional destinations.
Jeju Air will operate the Incheon-Jeju route twice a week starting May 12, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The Incheon-Jeju route has been suspended since October 2015, and the return of the service is part of broader efforts to enhance regional connectivity and better utilize airports outside the capital.
Under the plan, international passengers currently transfer from Incheon to Gimpo International Airport for domestic Jeju flights, and authorities previously indicated intentions to resume the Incheon-Jeju route and expand Incheon-Gimhae services for international transfer passengers.

국토교통부에 따르면 제주는 인천-제주 노선의 운항을 5월 12일부터 주 2회로 시작한다.
인천-제주 노선의 정기편은 2015년 10월 이후 중단됐다.
이번 조치는 외국인 방문객의 지역 접근성 개선과 수도권 외 공항의 활용도 제고를 위한 정부의 노력이 반영된 것이다.
현재 국제 승객은 제2공항으로의 국내선으로 환승하기 위해 인천국제공항에서 Gimpo국제공항으로 이동해야 한다.
국토부는 국제 환승 승객의 인천-제주 노선 재개와 인천-김해노선 확장을 위한 계획을 앞서 발표한 바 있다.
