Senior executives from major financial companies are set to attend CES 2026 in Las Vegas next month to explore the application of global artificial intelligence (AI) technologies within financial services, according to industry officials.
KakaoBank will be the only internet-only bank from Korea at the event, while the Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) will operate the sole exhibition booth for Korean banks. Additionally, KB, Shinhan, and Woori financial groups will send their CEOs and digital strategy teams to the trade show.
This growing presence of financial firms at CES reflects their commitment to investigating the future of finance and seeking digital innovation pathways, as their earnings face challenges from a prolonged low-interest-rate environment and stricter regulations.
KakaoBank has announced that CEO Yun Ho-young will attend, accompanied by members of the bank's AI and strategy teams to track global technology trends.
A KakaoBank official stated, “CES 2026 will showcase AI agents, blockchain-based fintech solutions, AI-driven security technologies, and on-device authentication, all of which are directly relevant to the future of financial services.” CEO Yun aims to gather insights to enhance customer experience and spur service innovation.
Yun, who is serving his fifth consecutive term, has emphasized the importance of AI in reinforcing KakaoBank's identity as a technology-focused digital bank. He has actively participated in significant global tech and fintech events, including the Money 2020 Asia conference in Thailand in April, to remain updated on the latest AI advancements.
KakaoBank is committed to innovating customer experiences and internal processes through AI, expanding its use of AI across services like AI-powered search functions and AI-enabled fund transfer features.
Other financial firms are also preparing CES delegations focusing on digital strategy. The KB Financial Group will be led by Choi Jae-hong, a professor at Gangneung-Wonju National University and independent non-executive director, alongside staff from its affiliates.
Woori Financial Group plans to send approximately 30 participants, including deputy CEO-level executives. Meanwhile, Shinhan Bank, which has participated in CES for three years, has opted for a scaled-back visit this year. At CES 2025, it showcased an unmanned branch operated by an AI-powered virtual banker and an internally developed AI chatbot.
IBK will feature technologies developed by the bank and seven other promising companies at its standalone booth, offering interactive programs for visitors to experience Korea’s content investment process.

윤 CEO는 올해로 다섯 번째 연임을 하며 카카오뱅크의 기술 중심 디지털 은행 정체성을 강화하는 데 있어 AI 능력의 중요성을 반복적으로 강조해왔다. 그는 태국에서 열린 머니 2020 아시아 핀테크 컨퍼런스와 같은 주요 글로벌 기술 및 핀테크 행사에 frontline 직원들과 함께 참석하며 최신 AI 발전을 파악하고 있다.

KB금융그룹 대표단은 강릉원주대 교수이자 비상임 이사인 최재홍이 이끌며, 계열사의 실무 직원들이 동행할 예정이다.
우리금융그룹은 부행장급 임직원을 포함해 약 30명의 참가자를 파견할 계획이다.
3년 연속 CES 부스를 운영해온 신한은행은 이번에는 실무 차원의 방문으로 규모를 축소할 예정이다. 올해 CES 2025에서는 AI 기반 가상 뱅커가 운영하는 무인 지점을 비롯해 내부에서 개발한 AI 챗봇을 선보였다.
산업은행의 단독 부스에서는 은행과 7개의 유망 기업이 개발한 기술을 선보이며, 방문객들이 한국의 콘텐츠 투자 과정을 직접 경험할 수 있는 상호작용 프로그램도 제공할 예정이다.
