Two weeks after a fire broke out at a major state data center, 27.2 percent of the government's online services have been restored, authorities reported on Thursday.
As of 6 a.m., 193 out of a total of 709 online administrative services affected by last month's fire at the National Information Resources Service (NIRS) in Daejeon had been brought back online, according to the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.
On Thursday, the government finalized the tally of affected services at 709, an increase from the previously estimated 647, after restoring its internal management system for online government services, known as nTOPS.
Among the services restored during the extended Chuseok holiday this week is On-Nara Document 2.0, an electronic document management system that enables public officials to process tasks in real time, including drafting, approval, transmission, and archiving of public documents.
"The government will work to address the difficulties faced by those on duty and establish a sustainable recovery system through additional manpower support and other measures," said Interior Minister Yun Ho-jung during a meeting at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters.
The fire began when a lithium-ion battery exploded in a server room at the NIRS on September 26 and was completely extinguished the following day, officials stated.

이번 주 연장된 추석 연휴 동안 복구된 서비스 중에는 공무원들이 공문서의 작성, 승인, 전송 및 보관을 실시간으로 처리할 수 있는 전자 문서 관리 시스템인 온나라 문서 2.0이 포함되어 있다.
윤호중 행정안전부 장관은 중앙 재난 안전 대책 본부 회의에서 "정부는 근무 중 어려움을 겪는 이들을 지원하고, 추가 인력 지원 및 기타 방안을 통해 지속 가능한 복구 시스템을 구축하기 위해 노력할 것"이라고 밝혔다.
화재는 9월 26일 NIRS의 서버실에서 리튬 이온 배터리 폭발로 시작되었으며, 다음 날 완전히 진화되었다고 관계자들이 전했다.
