Unionized workers of GM Korea have voted to accept this year's wage agreement with management, concluding four months of negotiations, the union announced on Tuesday.
In the recent vote, 66.5 percent of the 6,508 union members approved the deal, while 33.2 percent opposed it.
The agreement includes a 95,000 won ($69) monthly base wage increase and a comprehensive bonus package totaling 17.5 million won per worker. Additionally, both parties agreed to introduce a new production incentive allowance for specific shifts and to raise assembly-related allowances.
Negotiations were prolonged due to disagreements over the company's plans to sell unused assets and dismiss the chief of the union, which delayed the wage deal until a tentative agreement was reached in the 19th round of talks last week.
