The updates, announced on Wednesday, emphasize stronger protections for young users, support for creators, and improvements in community well-being and information integrity.
The platform has built upon its existing safeguards, which include over 50 features and settings. Notably, the Family Pairing feature has been enhanced, allowing caregivers to link their accounts to their teens' and customize various settings. The latest update enables caregivers to receive automatic notifications when their teens upload videos, stories, or photos, while also providing greater access to the child's settings, including privacy options, downloaded content, and their following list.
According to a spokesperson, the foundation of these updates is safety, asserting that when users feel secure, they can express themselves more openly and creatively. The spokesperson emphasized that achieving this level of safety requires ongoing commitment and effort.
