A Seoul court has approved an arrest warrant for a woman suspected of casting two votes during early voting, including one by proxy for her husband. The Seoul Central District Court issued the warrant, citing concerns that the woman, identified by her surname Park, might destroy evidence or attempt to flee.
Park, who works as a contract employee at a health center in Gangnam District, is accused of voting twice on the first day of early voting. She allegedly used her husband's identity for one vote and then cast her own five hours later. During the early voting period, she held a position responsible for issuing ballot papers to voters.
Earlier in the day, Park attended a court hearing regarding the review of her arrest. She has denied that her actions were premeditated, claiming it was a momentary decision, and she also refuted any past involvement in similar offenses. Before entering the court for the hearing, she expressed remorse to reporters, stating, "I am sorry."
