Market attention is also focused on potential changes to U.S. tariff policy, as former President Trump indicated plans to double tariffs on foreign imports of steel to 50 percent. He accused China of "totally violating" a tariff agreement, which has raised concerns regarding trade tensions between the world’s two largest economies.
Most major stocks opened positively, with market leader Samsung Electronics rising 1.78 percent and chip manufacturer SK hynix increasing by 1.71 percent. Additionally, significant bio firm Samsung Biologics gained 0.87 percent, while leading battery maker LG Energy Solution also advanced.
