The return of the punk festival IT'S A FEST! (IAF) to Hanagae Beach on Incheon's Muui Island has been cancelled for the second consecutive year. This year's festival will instead take place indoors in Seoul, specifically at Binary Studios in Mangwon-dong.
Jeff Moses, co-organizer of the festival operated by World Domination, Inc. (WDI), stated, "Unfortunately, the problems between Hanagae and their local government are still ongoing. These problems have nothing to do with us, but because of them, Hanagae hasn’t been able to host IAF! for the last two years."
The organizers have renamed the event NOT A FEST! in response to the ongoing challenges. Moses indicated that while they did not want to forego the festival entirely, they opted for a more intimate setting this year. "We didn’t want to do nothing, but we also didn’t have the heart to put all the work into what would essentially be a big club show," he said. "So we decided to just book some great bands and have a small, less stressful weekend at Binary Studios."
The decision to move indoors follows last year's abrupt cancellation, which was met with significant disappointment from attendees.

축제 운영사인 월드 도미네이션 엘엘씨(WDI)의 공동 주최자인 제프 모세스는 "안타깝게도 한가애와 지역 정부 간의 문제는 여전히 진행중이다"고 전했다. "이 문제는 우리와는 아무런 관계가 없지만, 그로 인해 한가애는 지난 2년 동안 IAF!를 개최할 수 없었다"고 밝혔다.
올해는 개최명을 NOT A FEST!로 정하고 모세스가 운영하는 서울 서부 망원동의 지하 녹음 스튜디오인 바이너리 스튜디오에서 진행하기로 결정했다. 모세스는 "아무것도 하지 않기는 싫었지만, 대규모 클럽 공연을 위해 모든 작업을 치르는 데 마음이 내키지 않았다. 그래서 훌륭한 밴드 몇 팀을 Book하고 바이너리 스튜디오에서 소규모로 덜 스트레스를 받는 주말을 보내기로 했다"고 말했다.
작년에는 IAF!의 취소가 더욱 충격적으로 다가왔으며, 주최 측은 전체 페스티벌 라인업을 실내로 옮기게 되었다.
