Actor Kim Soo-hyun is currently involved in a controversy following a legal action taken by one of his former advertisers. A medical device company has filed for the provisional seizure of one of Kim's luxury apartments due to an unpaid penalty fee.
According to legal documents, the company submitted the request for provisional seizure on May 8, and the Seoul Eastern District Court subsequently approved the request later that month. The approved seizure pertains to an apartment owned by Kim in the upscale Galleria Foret complex.
The claim against Kim is reportedly valued at 3 billion won (approximately $2.2 million). The company terminated its advertising contract with him after a scandal involving the late actress Kim Sae-ron, subsequently seeking compensation that it alleges has not been paid.
Kim Soo-hyun is said to own three units in the Galleria Foret, located in the Seongdong District of eastern Seoul. His acquisitions include a 217-square-meter unit purchased for 4.02 billion won in October 2013, a 170-square-meter unit bought for 3.02 billion won in October 2014, and a 217-square-meter penthouse acquired for 8.8 billion won in January 2024.
The cumulative market value of these three properties is significant, highlighting the actor's financial interests in high-end real estate.
