Concerns are rising regarding China's increasing influence on the Korean auto industry, as experts and industry officials warn that local manufacturers may become technologically dependent on emerging Chinese carmakers and parts suppliers.
China has garnered attention for its significant advancements in various technology sectors, but the rapid growth of Chinese carmakers presents a particular challenge to their Korean counterparts. This trend is further evidenced by the growing number of partnerships between Korean automakers and Chinese firms.
KG Mobility, a mid-tier automaker in Korea, has notably intensified its collaboration with Chinese car manufacturers. The company has adopted BYD’s lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries for its Torres EVX all-electric SUV and is set to enhance its technological partnership with BYD by integrating a dual tech hybrid system in the Torres hybrid SUV.
Additionally, KG Mobility plans to launch the SE10 large SUV, which is being developed in collaboration with China’s Chery Automobile, highlighting the deepening ties between the two countries' automotive industries.

이 한국 자동차 제조사는 BYD와 공동 개발한 이른바 듀얼 테크 하이브리드 시스템을 장착하여 토레스 하이브리드 SUV의 기술적 관계를 확장할 계획이다. KG 모빌리티는 중국의 체리 자동차와 공동 개발한 대형 SUV SE10을 한국에서 출시할 예정이다.
