South Korea's Lee So-mi is positioned five strokes behind the 36-hole leader at the KPMG Women's PGA Championship, the third major tournament of the LPGA season. During the second round, held at Fields Ranch East in PGA Frisco, Texas, Lee recorded a one-over 73.
With an overall score of one-under after 36 holes, Lee is currently tied for fifth place, trailing leader Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand. Since joining the LPGA Tour last year following five wins on the Korean tour, Lee is in pursuit of her first victory in the U.S.
Lee's second round included four birdies, three bogeys, and one double bogey on the par-72 course, which measured 6,532 yards. She began the round with a bogey on her first hole and suffered a double bogey on the par-4 sixth, placing her at one-over for the tournament. However, she rebounded with birdies on the seventh and ninth holes.
In a turbulent finish, Lee experienced a sequence of bogey-birdie-birdie-bogey from the 14th to 17th holes. Reflecting on her performance, Lee acknowledged, "I made a lot of mistakes today, but I made enough birdies to recover my mistakes." She indicated a determination to remain focused through potential challenges in the upcoming rounds.

첫 홀에서 보기를 하였고, 그 후 파4의 여섯 번째 홀에서 더블 보기를 기록하며 전체 스코어가 1오버로 떨어졌다.
이후 7번과 9번 홀에서 버디를 기록하여 반등했다.
14번부터 17번 홀까지는 보기-버디-버디-보기가 이어지는 혼란스러운 마무리를 했다.
이소미는 “오늘 많은 실수를 했지만, 실수를 만회할 만큼의 버디를 잡았다”고 말했다.
그녀는 “주말에 여러 실수를 할 것이라는 확신이 있지만, 당황하지 않고 한국으로 집중할 것”이라고 덧붙였다.
