Woori Financial Group Chairman Yim Jong-yong is scheduled to conduct his inaugural solo overseas investor relations event since assuming office, as announced by the group on Thursday. Beginning Wednesday, Yim will visit Hong Kong for a three-day engagement with major shareholders and global institutional investors.
The session will primarily focus on detailing the group's growth strategy, particularly following the recent regulatory approval to incorporate Tongyang Life and ABL Life as affiliates. In addition, Yim intends to discuss the group’s future policies regarding shareholder returns, alongside its strategies for soundness and risk management.
This event marks Yim’s first independent overseas investor relations meeting since his appointment in March 2023. Previously, in September, he participated in a joint session in London with leaders of other significant domestic financial holding companies. The upcoming Hong Kong event is anticipated to serve as a catalyst for Yim to initiate a more proactive overseas outreach campaign throughout the year.
In a letter sent to global investors in January, Yim expressed his commitment to actively seeking opportunities to engage with overseas investors in person and to gather diverse perspectives.

이번 홍콩 행사는 2023년 3월 임 회장이 취임한 이후 처음으로 개최되는 독자적인 해외 투자자 관계 행사다.
지난 9월에는 다른 주요 국내 금융 지주회사 회장들과 함께 런던에서 공동 세션에 참석한 바 있다.
앞으로의 홍콩 행사에서 임 회장은 올해 보다 적극적인 해외 캠페인 추진의 출발점이 될 것으로 예상된다.
임 회장은 1월 글로벌 투자자에게 보낸 서한에서 해외 투자자와 직접 만나 다양한 의견을 듣기 위해 기회를 적극적으로 모색할 것이라고 밝혔다.
