Police on Saturday filed for a formal arrest warrant for an election worker who allegedly cast an early vote for the June 3 presidential election on her husband's behalf, officials said.
The suspect was detained without a warrant on Thursday, shortly after authorities received a report of double voting at a polling station in Gangnam's Daechi 2-dong neighborhood.
The Seoul Suseo Police Station has applied for the warrant on charges of deceptive voting, seeking to extend her detention.
The woman, a contract employee at the Gangnam district health office, was appointed as an election worker by the election watchdog and was responsible for issuing ballots to voters.

해당 여성은 서울 강남구청의 계약직 직원으로, 선거 관리 당국에 의해 선거 작업자로 임명되어 유권자에게 투표용지를 발급하는 업무를 맡고 있었다.
