The average cost of wedding services in South Korea has been reported at approximately 21 million won ($15,262), with prices notably higher in the capital region, according to an industry report released on Wednesday.
The Korea Consumer Agency conducted an analysis of 5,000 contracts across 370 venues, which included rental and meal costs, as well as 1,814 package deals from 152 firms covering photography, dresses, and makeup. The study indicated that the average total wedding cost was 21.01 million won as of last month.
Within Seoul, the affluent Gangnam district recorded the highest average wedding cost at 34.09 million won. In comparison, non-Gangnam areas in the capital had an average cost of 28.15 million won, while surrounding Gyeonggi Province and Incheon reported average costs of 18.75 million won and 18.34 million won, respectively.
The median cost of venue contracts was noted to be 15.55 million won, with Gangnam again the most expensive area at 31.3 million won, and Busan being the least expensive at 8.15 million won.
Meal costs constituted the largest share of wedding hall expenses, with the median price per guest set at 58,000 won. April emerged as the most expensive month for renting wedding venues, averaging 17.25 million won, followed closely by March and May.

식사 비용은 결혼식장 비용의 가장 큰 부분을 차지하며, 손님 1인당 중앙값 가격은 58,000원이었다. 4월은 결혼식장 임대 비용이 가장 높은 달로, 평균 비용이 1,725만 원에 달했고, 3월, 5월이 그 뒤를 이었다.
