SK Innovation has announced the appointment of Choo Hyeong-wook, President of SK Innovation E&S, as its new CEO, and Jang Yong-ho, CEO of SK Inc., as executive president. The board of directors approved these appointments on Wednesday.
Choo, who has served as CEO of SK E&S since 2021, has been instrumental in the company's growth across four key sectors: low-carbon liquefied natural gas, renewable energy, energy solutions, and hydrogen. Following the merger of SK Innovation with SK E&S last November, he has concentrated on creating synergies within the newly integrated entity.
Jang is recognized for his strategic contributions to SK Group's expansion in the semiconductor and chipmaking materials sectors. During his leadership of SK Inc.'s portfolio management in 2015, he facilitated the acquisition of SK Materials, a specialty gas supplier for chipmakers, and SK Siltron, a semiconductor wafer producer, significantly enhancing their corporate value.
