Yoon's Prague visit sets stage for W24tr nuclear power plant deal


President Yoon Suk Yeol recently concluded a visit to the Czech Republic, where he engaged in discussions to solidify a significant nuclear energy deal between South Korea and the central European nation. During his visit, President Yoon, along with Czech President Petr Pavel and Prime Minister Petr Fiala, emphasized their commitment to the successful execution of Czech nuclear projects. The trip included visits to key facilities and the signing of various agreements to facilitate cooperation in different stages of the nuclear power unit construction project. The visit aimed to address potential obstacles, such as ongoing licensing disputes, to ensure the smooth progression of the deal. Czech authorities expressed their preference for the Korean consortium led by KHNP for the Dukovany project, highlighting the importance of local companies' involvement. Both countries underscored the significance of collaboration in various sectors, including nuclear energy, trade, investment, and high-tech industries. The agreements reached during the visit are expected to enhance bilateral ties and pave the way for further cooperation between South Korea and the Czech Republic.
