The Seoul Central District Prosecutors Office has decided to clear first lady Kim Keon Hee of allegations regarding her acceptance of a Dior handbag from a Korean American pastor in 2022. The decision was reported to the head of the SCDPO, Lee Chang-soo, and is expected to be conveyed to Prosecutor General Lee One-seok soon. The investigation team concluded that there are no grounds to pursue charges of anti-graft law violation against Kim in connection with the luxury bag and other expensive gifts she allegedly received from the pastor. This decision comes after a special investigation team was set up by the top prosecutor four months ago. The team also determined that the bag received from the pastor was a gesture of gratitude between individuals, and it was not related to President Yoon Suk Yeol's official duties. Additionally, the pastor's alleged requests for favors from Kim, including one related to a former Korean American US House Rep.'s future burial, were taken into consideration during the investigation.
